Valerie Chavez
Research Associate
Valerie Chavez is a Research Associate in the Lesson Study Group at Mills College. She received her bachelors in Applied Mathematics and Statistics, with a second degree in Writing Seminars from the Johns Hopkins University. Prior to joining the Lesson Study Group, Valerie was an AmeriCorps Math Fellow serving students in east Oakland, and worked on research related to teacher well-being and socio-emotional learning. Her interests include exploring math thinking, promoting equity in education, and exploring modes of teaching and learning mathematics.
